Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church Leadership
Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Elder Randy Waters
Randy Waters grew up in Bulloch County, near Brooklet, attended UGA and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Resource Management. He is married to the former Penny Ann DeLoach. He has three daughters, three son-in-law’s, and eight grandchildren.
Randy was ordained into the Primitive Baptist Ministry at the Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church on November 13, 1997, after having received a call from the Lake Primitive Baptist as pastor. He served the Lake Church until July, 2005 and then began his ministry at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. He is currently serving the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
Personal comment from Bro. Randy: I love the Lord Jesus Christ and will never get over what He has done for me and to me. Preaching is the passion of my heart and serving God’s people is my greatest satisfaction. I am a Five-Point Calvinist, seeded deep in God’s sovereignty, and believe the gospel should be preached everywhere and all the time to exalt our Lord Jesus Christ.
Khai is originally from Burma and was raised in a born-again Christian family. Since his college and seminary days, he has served as a musician, choir leader, and Bible teacher in Myanmar, South Korea, and the United States. Finally, he was called to serve as the Music Director for the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church to meet the needs of the body of Christ. His prayer is to love God and people more for His glory. Khai holds a BA from the Mandalay University of Distance Education, an MA/MDiv from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary, a ThM from Jeonju University, and an MCM from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Tamela A. Smith has been the Secretary at SPBC since October 2015. She has been happily married to Danny Smith for 26 years as of April 8, 2021. They have two grown children, Elijah and Joshua. Tamela grew up in the Statesboro church but is a member of Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church. She feels like she has two church families and she loves them both dearly! She is happy to be working at SPBC and is happy to serve the church any way she can.
